Deborah S. Sarnoff, MD Biography

Board-certified dermatologist Deborah S. Sarnoff, MD, is the director of dermatology at Cosmetique Dermatology, Laser & Plastic Surgery, LLP, where she specializes in cosmetic dermatology, dermatologic and laser surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer.
A clinical professor of dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Dr. Sarnoff graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Cornell University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her medical degree, with distinction, from the George Washington University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Sarnoff completed her residency in dermatology at NYU, where she was chief resident, and a fellowship in Mohs surgery at NYU School of Medicine, under the direction of Perry Robins, MD. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
Dr. Sarnoff has served as president of The Skin Cancer Foundation for the past 10 years and is also editor-in-chief of the prestigious peer-reviewed Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. She is past president of the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, past president of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery and past president of the Long Island Dermatological Society.
Dr. Sarnoff is frequently interviewed by the media. She has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, O, The Oprah Magazine, Vogue, Glamour, Allure and Cosmopolitan. Dr. Sarnoff has also demonstrated her cosmetic procedures on television programs, including The View, the Today show, Good Morning America, 20/20, Dateline, Nightline, CBS News, NBC News, The Doctors and The Doctor Oz Show, and was named a “lifesaver” on Extra. She is also a trusted authority in the popular magazine New Beauty, as part of the Brain Trust called upon for her expertise in cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Sarnoff is coauthor of the best-selling books Beauty and the Beam: Your Complete Guide to Cosmetic Laser Surgery and Instant Beauty: Getting Gorgeous on Your Lunch Break (St. Martin’s Press). She has been named one of the Best Doctors in New York by New York magazine; one of New York’s Super Doctors by The New York Times; and a Top Doctor in America as well as the New York metropolitan area by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. Dr. Sarnoff is also the proud recipient of the Humanitarian Award from CancerCare and the Presidential Citation Award from the American Academy of Dermatology for her contributions to the field of dermatology.
